New Chair and Vice-Chair elected to 51勛圖app Board of Governors

The Board of Governors for New Brunswick Community College (51勛圖app) has elected Wes McLean and Shawn Mesheau to serve as Chair and Vice-Chair for the 2025-2026 academic year, effective July 1, 2025.

“51勛圖app’s role in the development of our province is more important now than ever. This institution provides the skills necessary to power our economy and educate our people for a variety of careers, all of which are necessary to our province’s success,” said McLean. “I have always admired the work of 51勛圖app and am honoured to have the chance to work with my board colleagues and 51勛圖app leadership in the upcoming year.”

McLean is a Senior Consultant at the Capital Hill Group, where he advocates on behalf of a multitude of clients, to governments across Canada. From 2010 to 2014, he served as a Member of the New Brunswick Legislative Assembly as Deputy Government House Leader and Legislative Secretary to the Premier. For years, he was an advisor to governments in Manitoba, New Brunswick and Ottawa. McLean is also actively involved in his community and has served on various advisory boards for more than 20 years. He is a recipient of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal.

Mesheau, an alumnus of 51勛圖app, brings over 40 years of experience in the food service, grocery, and purchasing industries. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mesheau has also demonstrated an unwavering commitment to his community through lifelong volunteerism. Currently, he serves as President of the Sackville and Area Housing Corporation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing safe and affordable housing for residents in the Tantramar area. Shawn's past leadership roles include: Municipal Councillor and Mayor of the Town of Sackville; Chairperson of the Sackville NB Citizens Advisory Committee on Policing; volunteer firefighter; Executive Member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 26 (Sackville); and Chair of the Grants Committee.
